A Tradition on Harper Avenue
For more than three decades, the Kiwanis Harper Charity Cruise has brought families, auto enthusiasts, and neighbors together to celebrate classic cars and community spirit. What started as a neighborhood cruise evolved into a uniquely local charitable event that keeps its focus on giving back.
Since 2005, the Shorewood Kiwanis Club has overseen coordination and funding to ensure the cruise remains sustainable and impactful. The cruise is proud to be organized as a 100% charity-driven event — with no registration fees and no prize money — meaning sponsorships, donations, and t-shirt sales go straight to local programs.
This Year’s Cruise — What to Expect
On Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Harper Avenue will come alive with hundreds of cars — from pristine classics to modern muscle — plus food trucks, family activities, and community booths. The route stretches from 8½ Mile to 12 Mile, with neighborhood spots and gathering areas hosting mini-events and displays.
Stop by the Roy O’Brien Ford gathering at the Kroger parking lot (near 9 Mile and Harper) for our Mustang showcase, activities for kids, and an atmosphere that celebrates both heritage and hometown pride.

By sponsoring the cruise, Roy O’Brien Ford helps make sure every dollar raised supports local scholarships, holiday assistance, school supplies, safety equipment for first responders, and other community-driven initiatives.
Why It Matters
The Harper Charity Cruise is more than a summer evening of cars and music — it’s a sustained effort to return resources to our community. Roy O’Brien Ford is proud to do our part to ensure the cruise remains free, family-friendly, and focused on impact.
